Welcome to Catalyst For Science!

This new resources site shares teacher reviewed and classroom tested science-based resources (lessons, activities and links). The first phase of this site includes resources populated from the BC Science Teachers' Association (BCScTA) and Science World archives, contributions from current teachers, and submissions by presenters at the 2011 BCScTA annual conference. This is a work in progress; we will be revising and updating content throughout 2012.

The initial focus includes Science 8-10 topics which BC science teachers have identified as needing support, with a view to expanding to K-7 and senior secondary topics.

Browse the site!

  • Use the left-hand menu to find lessons by topic or grade.
  • A keyword search may also be used to locate an activity.

Call For Submissions!

Resources submitted should be appropriate for high school aged students and may include multimedia activities, hands-on manipulatives, downloadable instructions for experiments, outdoor field guides, engineering challenges, or any other activities that explore, explain and animate the BC science curriculum.

Check out resources from the Catalyst 2011 Conference!

These resources have been contributed from various presenters. We thank them for contributing a snapshot of their workshops and for sharing their resources with other BC teachers.
